Every other team in MotoGP->ke1254 is looking up to Honda these days. If they want to do anything to topple Marc Marquez’s march towards a third straight world championship, they’re going to have to do something about the new Honda RC213V.

The prototype of the bike was recently unveiled by the Repsol Honda team in Bali a month before the 2015 MotoGP season kicks off in Sepang, Malaysia. That explains the rather exotic location of the reveal, don’t you think?

The 2015 RC213V features a familiar-looking livery with Repsol retaining most of the real estate space on the bike, including the unmistakable orange color scheme, on account of its title sponsorhip of the team. Likewise, energy drink Red Bull is also returning as a team sponsor and this time around, the company has a larger sponsorship role on the team, hence the prominent logo placements on the front fender, the windshield, and the belly pan just underneath the tail.

Two-time defending world champion Marc Marquez and teammate Dani Pedrosa were on hand for the 241-horsepower bike’s debut. So here it is, ladies and gentlemen. The ride Marquez and Pedrosa will use this season as it attempts to re-assert its dominance in MotoGP.

Why it matters

The Honda RC213V is arguably the most important bike in MotoGP season. With respect to the rest of the field, but this year is already shaping up to be another one of those Honda - Yamaha duels.

The boys over at Yamaha already has the YZR-M1 ready to rumble. The team also has Jorge Lorenzo and former world champion Valentino Rossi in the fold. That’s a contender right there.

But despite what other teams have been doing in preparation for the 2015 MotoGP season, everybody knows that the Repsol Honda is still the team to beat.

Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa will be spearheading the team’s efforts this season and if they’re recent form is any indication, it’s going to take a Herculean effort for Yamaha to topple the incumbents.

It’s easier said than done, especially now that we’ve had our first look of the RC213V. The game is about to begin, ladies and gentlemen.

In a month’s time, we’re finally getting the first race of the MotoGP season. Something tells me that we’ll see the RC213V will have plenty of air time while in the race lead.

I can’t wait!
