Going the polar opposite way of its rivals, Kawasaki has announced that it’ll be bringing back the Ninja ZX-6R for 2023, with the production of motorcycle already underway.

This leaves the ZX-6R, one of the few MY23 Supersports on sale in the country, and with barely any supersport rivals, especially after Yamaha strangled the neck of the YZF-R6 last year, the stage is set for Ninja to wipe the floor with it.

2023 Kawasak Ninja ZX-6R Details

Taking the ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ approach, the Ninja ZX-6R remains unchanged for 2023 and mainly aims to exploit the market by being one of the few Supersports on sale.

The USP of the ZX-6R is it's enjoyable 636cc, inline-four engine which is expected to produce the same 127 horsepower and 52 pound-feet as its 2022 iteration.

There is a decent amount of tech and hardware on offer as well, as you get a quickshifter, power modes, multi-level traction control, and dual-channel ABS, all as standard. Not only does this make the ZX-6R quite tractable for all conditions, but it also ensures a safety net for new riders upgrading from smaller 250s.

Holding everything together, meanwhile, is an aluminum perimeter chassis sprung on Showa USD forks and a Uni-Trak mono-shock, one of the most pliant setups in the 600cc space. This is topped by Nissin monoblock calipers and petal discs which ensure utmost braking prowess.

Like everything else, the ZX-6R also carries forward its design, comprising angular two-pod LED headlights, fairing-mounted indicators, and two dark but dazzling color options- Metallic Matte Twilight Blue / Metallic Diablo Black alongside the ZX-10R- Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Gray / Metallic Diablo Black.}

2023 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R Pricing & Rivals

Kawasaki has priced the 2023 Ninja ZX-6R at $10,699 and $10,999 for the non-ABS and ABS variants, respectively, and the motorcycle will arrive at dealerships in late spring.

At this price, the ZX-6R undercuts its arch-rivals, the Suzuki GSX-R600 and the Aprilia RS660, by $500 and $400,} respectively, making it one of the most value-for-money fully-faired mid-spec motorcycles you can buy at the moment.

Sure, it’s not as techy-savvy and premium as the Aprilia RS660 but it does counter this by pumping out over 20 extra ponies than the RS.
