Remember that special GSX-R 1000R with carbon-fiber fairing, top-spec exhaust, race-styled screen and lever guards we spoke about last week? Well, we thought that this was a limited edition affair to showcase Yoshimura’s involvement as the former’s official partner for the upcoming MotoGP season.

At least we were right about the limited edition part. What it is, is the Suzuki GSX-R1000R Ryuyo. It is a not so cheap, nor can be ridden on the street version of the “King of Sportsbike” that gets a bump in power to a crazy 212 hp while losing out a huge 77 pounds, courtesy - so much carbon-fiber.

The bike gets the name from Ryuyo, a small place with a big name located close to Hamamatsu, Japan. This development center has an off-road track and a road course. It's basically where most Suzuki motorcycles are developed. But one thing’s for sure – it is the fastest test track in the world. And now, it is also the fastest GSX-R1000R ever.

With only 20 units to be made available, this extremely limited edition GSX-R based on their sportier 1000R variant will run on top-spec components from some the industry’s best-known brands to make it the fastest, most powerful, hardest-accelerating, cleanest-running GSX-R ever produced.

It gets an all-carbon fiber fairing with airbox ducts to shelve massive weights from the mighty GSX-R 1000R. The same material is also used for the Carbon front-mudguard and the Carbon frame-guards. Yoshimura plays with the R-11 exhaust made entirely of titanium along with the EM PRO control unit switchboard and wiring across the handlebars and the TFT instrumentation.

Multi-adjustable GP EVO footpegs, brake calipers dissipators, lever guards, Engine crankcase protectors amongst other have been 3D machined from solid billet aluminum. The Ryuyo also gets MotoGP styled Plexiglass screen, and an HP closed cell Neoprene saddle. Bonamici components also creep in the form of aluminum Racing steering plate and a Racing tank cap.

Ohlins components provide damping with the Ohlins NIX 30 front cartridge and an Ohlins TTX GP Mono shock absorber at the rear. Even the racing steering damper is from Ohlins. The braking department sees Brembo 19RCS Short stroke Brake lever, Brembo articulated RCS Brake pads, Brembo Racing in compound Z04 Braided tubes and Brembo Brake master cylinders.

Rubber is provided in the form of Dunlop KR108 and KR109 front and rear. Other kits include GP semi-handlebars in Ergal, Racing buttons referring directly to the MotoGP with pit limiter and rear rain light functions, Evo Rapid gas control, K&N racing air filter, GP Racing DID Step 520 Sprocket chain-bolt-pinion set and more.

Be sure that the new Suzuki machine will make use of the same mechanicals. The 4-stroke, 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC motor will run on the same 999.8 cc motor with an increased power output of 212 hp at 12,900 rpm and a peak twisting force of 88 lb-ft. It carries over the slipper assist and a 6-speed transmission with Bi-directional Quick-shift System.

It will come with driving modes, 10-level traction control, launch control, quick-shifter and slipper clutch. Mechanically, Showa BPF (Big Piston Front) forks and BFRC lite (Balance Free Rear Cushion lite) shock at the rear, developed for MotoGP handle suspension duties. Brembo Monoblock brakes come with ABS.

RYUYO will be officially unveiled at EICMA in November and will come with a price tag of € 29,990 or approximately $ 35,000. This is more than twice the standard GSX-R1000 ($ 14,599) and the GSX-R1000 R ($ 16,999). Bookings for the 20 units will begin on November 10th at shop.suzuki.it/moto/ryuyo/.
