No matter how powerful and feature-rich cruisers get, retro cruisers will always hold a special place in the heart of enthusiasts. The folks at the German bike shop Thunderbike also belong to this category and it very well shows on the custom bikes they forge. Case in point is the Harley-Davidson High Piper, a custom take on the popular Street Bob laden with over 20 in-house-made bits and bobs along with an overall retro aesthetic.

Custom Harley-Davidson Street Bob By Thunderbike

The first thing that catches the eye here is the whitewall tires, which add a much-needed contrast to the overall blacked-out aesthetic. While the wheel sizes remain stock (19/16-inch), a custom fender and suspension seat complement the old-school aura created by the whitewall tires.

On the opposite end, Thunderbike equipped the Street Bob with an in-house-made ape hanger complete with a speedo riser kit, custom levers, and handlebar grips, all made by the bike shop as well. Besides this, the bike features LED indicators and an LED headlight to keep it up-to-date with the times.

With the aesthetics sorted, Thunderbike shifted focus to the more serious bits. First, the team lowered the motorcycle at both ends with its self-made lowering kit. Post this, the Milwaukee Eight engine externals such as the timer cover, casing, and the belt-pulley system were replaced with Thunderbike-made parts. Topping these is a custom air filter and a custom up-swept exhaust system that looks nothing short of stunning and justifies the “High Piper” name. Oh, and don’t forget, the exhaust also means a bump in the performance.

Finally, other notable aspects of this custom Street Bob are a custom side-mounted number plate holder, pop-up gas cap, custom footpegs, and a leather saddle bag near the number plate. All these elements enhance the bike’s attention to detail, making this an epic custom project well-worthy of a shout-out.

Can You Buy It?

As striking as this, Thunderbike hasn’t shed a light on whether this is up for grabs, and chances are this was a customer project. Before your enthusiasm gets deflated, though, let us tell you most of these parts are available separately on Thunderbike’s website, so you have the chance to spruce up your existing Harley-Davidson.

Don’t own a Harley? Then, comment down below whether you’d take this home (if given the option).
