While we were still drooling over the radical H2 and H2R that can put any super sports to shame, Kawasaki->ke299 decided to expand the overcharged family and give the same gut-wrenching soul to a biblical tourer.

Co-developed by Kawasaki’s motorcycle and aerospace division, this ‘world’s only’ supercharged hyper sport touring motorcycle, touted to be called as the 'Ninja H2 SX, will have the ultimate blend of power, performance, refinement, comfort and fuel efficiency.

BMW->ke1398 had given the world’s first supercharged motorcycle in the '30s that was christened as the BMW Type 255 Kompressor, and it had a Zoller sliding vane supercharger bolted to the front of the DOHC boxer twin power mill.

But then it did not have many takers. Manufactures started developing an everyday engine for the everyday people. It had to cut emissions and give more miles to the gallon. Until, 70 years later, the Peugeot JetForce scooter was launched. It carried a 250cc supercharged engine which did not kick up much dust either.

Many turbocharged motorcycles came in between but nothing set the world running crazy as much as the feisty Kawasaki Ninja H2R. Even after two years since its debut. It was the first thing to roll out of a major factory with forced induction since a few ill-fated turbo experiments back in the 80s.

Now the same folks will use the same mad formula to give the world the craziest sports touring motorcycle they've ever seen. With 200 hp on the tap, the H2 SX will make use of the same 998cc supercharged engine or a smaller one but will be tuned to 'create even greater low to mid-range pulling power'.

The bike will also give you 'superior fuel economy' without missing out on the fearsome accelerations and torque. To achieve that, it comes with some neat technology like the variable intake vanes to alter the airflow into the supercharger.

Mechanically, the SX will get similar top-of-the-line equipment like the H2 and H2R, but will be tweaked to be softer and comfortable for long expanses. The riding stance will also be 'directed towards the sport touring market' rather than the apex hunter.

The H2 SX will be showcased at the EICMA show in Milan this November and is said to take over the reigns of the sports touring segment to unthinkable heights.
