The bike world is becoming more modern with each passing day and it’s high time that our helmets caught up as well. This is where the new-for-2022 VATA7 X1 helmet comes in which aims to revolutionize helmets as we know them. How? Well, let’s dive into the nitty-gritty for that.

VATA7 X1 Carbon Fiber Helmet Unveiled

Starting off with the basic details, the VATA7 X1 boasts a full carbon fiber construction resulting in a feathery weight of just 900 grams (1.9 pounds). This, however, is for the small shell size, and the weight is expected to go up marginally for bigger shells.

Speaking of shells, the company will offer the X1 in a variety of shells, so it'd essentially be a proper fit for all kinds of head sizes, thus improving safety as well as comfort.

Along with this, the helmet comes equipped with a double-D retention system, a pinlock-ready scratch-resistant visor, and a Bluetooth connection system (with integrated speakers) by none other than Sena.

But by far the most standout bit here is the LEDs. While this isn’t the first time we’re seeing an LED-equipped helmet, the manufacturer does claim that the X1 is the world’s first helmet capable of wirelessly syncing with your bike’s lighting system.

This basically means it can mimic the tail lamp and indicators, showing the same pattern on the helmet’s LEDs. Plus, there’s also a dedicated app that lets you further customize the LED pattern.

These LEDs have a claimed working life of 50,000kms while the helmet’s battery lasts twelve hours on a single charge.

Finally, coming to the safety ratings, the X1 adheres with DOT, FIM, and SNELL while scoring a full five stars in the SHARP test. Besides, VATA7 also claims an ECE 22.06 rating for the X1 but helmets with LEDs aren’t approved under ECE, so we’re yet to find out how that works.

What’s The Price?

The VATA7 X1 will go on sale from July 2022 onwards at a price of $899. This isn’t cheap but considering the features on offer, the X1 is surely an exquisite helmet to own.

Not to mention, you’ll look uber-cool while donning this.
