The past couple of years has been nothing short of a roller coaster ride for the six-time MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez, thanks to back-to-back career-threatening injuries. Despite his plight, Marquez took his first win at the 2021 German Grand Prix after the monumental Jerez crash in 2020.

To celebrate this high, Marquez’s helmet sponsor Shoei has taken the wraps off two new limited edition colorways for the NXR2 (called the RF1200 here) and Glamster helmets.

Shoei NXR2 & Glamster Marc Marquez Retro Edition

Dubbed the MM93 Retro TC-2, this limited edition colorway takes inspiration from the special edition X-14 worn by Marc Marquez at the 2021 German round. Consequently, it features the same triple color design with red and blue graphics on an overall white base coat. There’s no shortage of the number “93” on the helmet, ensuring everyone around you knows who you’re rooting for.

This ‘retro’ colorway looks particularly smashing on the Shoei Glamster, the company’s full-face old-school lid. Speaking of which, the Glamster possesses a shock-absorbent shell and EPS liner system, additionally packing features such as an emergency quick release system, double D-ring enclosure, and multiple inlet vents are all part of the package, too.

Meanwhile, the NXR2 is Shoei’s street-sport helmet catered toward canyon sprints and occasional track days. Like the Glamster, this tin also boasts a shock-absorbent shell, EPS liner system, an emergency quick-release system, and double D-ring enclosure. In addition, though, you also get a mist-resistant visor, cutouts for an intercom, a total of ten vents (six inlets and four outlets), and an integrated spoiler outback.

Pricing & Availability

While you can contact your nearest Shoei dealer to know (and reserve) your Marquez Edition NXR2 aka RF1200 (expect it to cost ~$630), the Glamster is a Europe-only helmet and not currently on sale here.

Bear in mind, though, that both of these helmets will be available in limited numbers from August 2022 onwards.
