Adding to the onset of electric vehicle’s, 22 Motors from the Indian subcontinent have come up with an electric scooter that was unveiled at the 2018 Indian Auto Expo along with the Emflux One and the Menza Lucat EVs’. All from the budding Indian start-up eco-system.

Called as the’ 22 Motors Flow’, the scooter has various smart Internet of Things (IoT) features seen unlike on any other electric offerings in the recent past. Made for Indian conditions and commuters, the Flow comes with latest technologies like Artificial Intelligence (yes, you read that right), Lithium Ion Storage and advanced Electric Powertrains to be called as “ahead of time”.

Powering the Flow is a 2,100W electric motor which produces 66.4 lb-ft of peak torque at zero rpm. The Lithium-ion battery has enough juice to take the Flow for a maximum of 100 miles, provided you carry two such batteries on-board. That is interesting because the Flow can also run on a single battery pack for 50 miles while the second battery pack can be plugged in for a charge up back at home for you to swap them in a jiffy.

The smart-looking, Cloud-Connected battery is a lightweight, portable unit that has the capability of a fast charge for up to 70% in 1 hour and is typically chargeable with a standard 5 Amp socket. And the cherry on top is that if you have an issue with them at any time of your ownership of the Flow, they get replaced by the company for free of cost.

The DC Motor is developed by Bosch and comes with Regenerative Braking System(KERS). The battery management system is designed in-house and facilitates geo-fencing, battery use analysis, remote diagnosis, daily alerts and fleet management. They call it the first scooter having Artificial Intelligence.

The AI is responsible for giving the rider with inputs that will minimize breakdowns and has what they call as “Intelligent Collision Detection and Alert”. How that works is out of my reach but Daaamn!. The AI will also order the spare parts automatically even before the failure occurs. Isn't that smart?

The scooter is also more than practical with having space for two helmets in its boot, and it comes with Bluetooth connectivity for seamless interaction between your phone and your 2-wheeler. All LED Lights & Projector Head Lamp is a first-in-class feature taking the premium feel to the next level. It also gets CBS (Combined Braking System) for enhanced safety.

All of this comes at just ₹ 74,740 ($1,150) with pre-bookings open at their website. You can get one in varied colors like Rogue Matt Blue, Couture Brown, Fury Red, Raisin Black, Moonlight Silver, and White Dove. It will definitely not make it to our hemisphere anytime in the near future, but the technology being built in regards to the electric powertrain is staggering.

It looks like India is becoming a hotspot for electric two-wheeler business with a brand new firm coming up with an electric powered scooter or a motorcycle every other day. The start-up ecosystem has been given a huge push by the government through the "Make In India" initiative and multiple other subsidies for electric development. No wonder it is the biggest two-wheeler market in the world.
