A British Suzuki Motorcycle dealer from Swindon has commissioned a special GSX-R1000 Pepsi GP Edition. It pays homage to GP legend, Kevin Schwantz and his 1988 Pepsi-sponsored RGV500 that went on to win his 500GP title. The limited run motorcycle celebrates the 25th anniversary of this feat and the 30th anniversary of the Pepsi scheme on motorcycles.

Only 25 units of this special edition will be ever made, and each bike is numbered and bears the signature of the man himself along with the iconic number 34. Each one of them will come with a price tag of £13,999 ($19,500), $4,500 dearer than the GSX-R1000 ABS edition the bike it is originally based on.

The 2001 entry kid GSX-R1000 is regarded as one of the most usable supersport bikes on sale in the two-wheeler market, which is tamable effectively by both the amateur as well as seasonal bikers. Launched to the world almost three decades ago, the GSX-R 1000 has humbled more than a million customers and has single-handedly transformed the open sportbike class constantly. People soon called it “The King of Sportbikes.”

Built by engineers with years of experience and dominations in production-based Superbike, Superstock and Endurance races worldwide, and most importantly the WSBK MotoGP technology, the 6th gen 2017 GSX-R 1000 is the most compact, the most aerodynamic and the best-handling GSX-R 1000 ever.

This exclusive limited edition run of 25 bikes are painted as faithful replicas of the 1988 Pepsi Suzuki RGV500 as ridden by Kevin Schwantz. The GSX-R1000 Pepsi GP Edition, as aforementioned, is a special commission by a Swindon based Suzuki dealer, Blade Motorcycles. Honoring the legendary racer, the bike features Schwantz ‘34’ number on the fairing and the rear seat cowl.

The Pepsi livery takes us back to the old days of white, red, blue, and gold, similar to the one on the 1988 RGV500. It also comes with his signature on the tank keeping racing history alive. The wheels get the white paint job to match synergies with the rest of the bike. For those who wish to pick up this baby before the end of April, the Blade guys will throw in a free Yoshimura end can too giving you an aural lust as well.

The 4-stroke, 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC motor runs on the same 999.8 cc belts out a 201 hp, and the peak torque it produced is 87 lb-ft. It comes with driving modes, 10-level traction control, launch control, quick-shifter and slipper clutch. Mechanically, Showa BPF (Big Piston Front) forks and BFRC lite (Balance Free Rear Cushion lite) shock at the rear, developed for MotoGP handle suspension duties. Brembo Monoblock brakes come with ABS. It is by far the most advanced, most exciting Suzuki GSX-R in history.

Unfortunately, the limited 25 units will be available only to the customers of Blade Motorcycles in Swindon, UK.
