Number 9 in our run down of the best motorcycling video games takes the premise of Road Rash, the original arcade motorcycling game, and adds a whole lot more.

Ten Best Motorcycle Video Games, No.9: Road Redemption

If you loved Road Rash back in the 1990s, then you'll love Road Redemption. It takes the Road Rash premise and brings it slightly more up to date, with a lot more features - as there should be, given that it is over 25 years younger.

It owes nothing to riding reality and everything to exciting game play, battling rival bikers while racing down the highway or across rooftops (!) and kicking them off their bikes or chopping their heads off!

In the game, you are part of a motorcycle gang, travelling across country through cities, mountains and open countryside, battling rival gangs along the way. You have the opportunity to earn money to improve your bike and weapons, according to how successful you are on your bike. There are other tasks you can perform, from robberies to assassinations, which will also earn you money to upgrade your character as well as your bike and weapons.

In terms of the graphics, it's not all that far from Road Rash but it does replicate the '90s feel of that game, this time with an actual storyline and development features.
