Ever since it debuted, the Honda Grom has been quite popular. Owing to this popularity, we’ve seen numerous custom builds based on the Grom, most of which aren’t really road-friendly.

Japan-based TTR Motors, though, has taken a different road altogether and introduced two completely reversible body kits for the Grom, both of which transform the minibike into Honda's exotic superbike, the CB1100R.

Honda Grom CB1100R Body Kits

TTR Motors has introduced two kits for the Honda Grom (officially called MSX125), both transforming the bike into the legendary CB1100R. The first kit converts the bike into a naked avatar of the CB1100R while leaving the Grom's engine exposed.

With this kit, you get a chunky tailpiece with a retro light and an old-school fuel tank cover wrapped in Honda’s signature red and white color.

The real deal, however, is the second kit, dubbed the ‘Type R mini’. This kit, along with the aforementioned parts, gets a full fairing (in HRC’s tricolor livery), custom mirrors, and a rectangular headlight, recreating the true essence and key aspects of the CB1100R.

And before you ask, no, the clip-on handlebar, custom exhaust, and swingarm aren’t part of the kit.

TTR Motors claim both these kits will fit the current and older generation Groms. The company, though is currently working on making the kit easier to bolt on (essentially making it a DIY). It has priced the full fairing kit at ¥350,000 ($3,050) and the smaller kit at ¥300,000 ($2,615). This does seem like a steep asking price but for what it’s worth, the kits will surely grant you bragging rights in your Grom gang.

Honda Grom Features, Engine, & Price

The Honda Grom is a popular product with over 75,000 units already sold around the world. This is courtesy of its easy-going nature and a handful of modern features comprising:

- All-LED lighting

- Digital LCD instrument cluster

- ABS (optional)

- Swappable body panels

- USD forks

The Grom is also quite fun on the go, thanks to its small but peppy 123.9cc, single-cylinder mill. The engine puts out 9.6 horsepower and comes mated to a five-speed gearbox, making it the perfect two-wheeler to learn to ride or polish your skills. And as one would expect from a mini bike, the Grom also has a very accessible seat height of 30 inches.

The 2022 Honda Grom currently retails at $3,399, offering epic value for the money.
