Triumph has announced a collaboration with Breitling watches and the first model off the production line is a Speed Twin with exclusive touches.

Triumph and Breitling: a match made for the times

The market in luxury watches has bloomed in the past decade or so and many of the 'new' brands have established ties with automotive, racing and motorcycle brands to gain exposure.

Triumph and Breitling are the latest to announce a partnership and The Breitling Speed Twin and the Breitling Top Time Triumph Chronograph are the results. In keeping with Triumph's long and distinguished history, it is apt that Triumph has partnered with Breitling, which was founded in 1884.

The Speed Twin will be limited to 270 examples and will cost a slightly eye-watering $22,000 or thereabouts! if you are feeling flush, you can add a Breitling Top Time Chronograph to the purchase, which will wear a matching serial number to the bike. No price is given for the watch but expect no change from $5000!

The bike gets a bespoke paint scheme, higher-spec Ohlins shocks at the back, billet-machined aluminium clutch and alternator covers and Breitling branding. The seat is perforated black leather with grey stitching, matching the watch's strap and the twin clock faces take cues from Breitling watch designs.

The watch gets a face coloured in Polychromatic Blue, in tribute to the blue used on the Triumph Thunderbird 6T as ridden by Marlon Brando in the movie The Wild One. The colour is also used on the petrol tank of the bike, which is hand-painted and detailed.
