Brandon Paasch steers his Triumph Street Triple RS 765 to his second consecutive - and Triumph's first - Daytona 200 victory.

Paasch Makes It Two In A Row at Daytona

Brandon Paasch timed his charge to the front of the field perfectly on Sunday to take his second Daytona 200 victory in a row. In a photo finish (also for the second year in a row, ironically) Paasch drafted past two riders to win by 0.007 seconds!

In second place was South African rider Cameron Peterson and fellow countryman Sheridan Morais came in third. Only 0.126 seconds separated first to fourth, with fourth being taken by Josh Hayes.

This was Triumph's debut at Daytona and to win first time out is testament to the work done by Simon Buckmaster's Dynavolt Triumph team, running in the British Supersport championship. Paasch rode for the team in 2021, helping to develop the Street Triple RS into a winning machine.

The speed of the Triumph was never in doubt and Paasch set the fastest lap of the race, going under 1 minute 50 seconds after his final pit stop.

After the race, Paasch said: “It’s unbelievably surreal to be a two-time Daytona 200 winner, but I can’t say this race didn’t play out exactly as I imagined it.” He added, “After last year’s win, I knew I had a winning strategy, and after a full season on the Street Triple RS, I had complete confidence in the bike and in the preparation of the TOBC Racing team, to execute it.”

Triumph’s Global Racing Manager, Jeremy Appleton, said, “ had the race pace, race craft and great maturity today and this win was greatly deserved.”
