The Las Vegas International Consumer Electronics Show (International CES) is the world’s biggest launch pad for innovation and technology that can change the course of the world. All kinds of manufacturers and developers showcase their high-tech products and give a glimpse of the next-generation innovations being introduced into our lives.

For 2018, the technology trade show has a little bit of the motorcycle product and its the folding scooter from Ujet, a tech company from Luxembourg. It is a smart scooter that can travel up to 95 miles, and once you're done, you can fold it up and roll it just like your trolley suitcase.

Last year, Honda rolled out its self-balancing bike at the CES, and the world went gaga over this new piece of technology that can keep riders safe on the roads. This time, it is all about mobility and convenience.

The Luxembourg company has launched the Ujet smart scooter with a lot of funky and weird ideas packed within the two wheels. It folds, splits, rolls and has a loudspeaker. All this does not come cheap though.

For $8,000–$10,000, the e-bike will have a 4kW motor fitted on the hub of the rear spoke-free orbital wheel that will power the bike with the 66 pound-feet of all-electric instant torque. The bike can attain a maximum range of 93 miles and will have a top speed of just 30 mph. An optional supercharger can fill the battery in just two hours out of a standard home outlet (else, it takes 6 hours via a standard charger).

But that is not why we are here for. The Ujet is quickly gaining a lot of eyeballs for the other things it can do. For example, the battery pack under the seat can easily be detached and the rider can trolley it around to their workspace using the small wheels and handle provided and charge it wherever possible, be that in the office or living room.

The carbon fiber and light alloy body parts help keep the bulk low at just 108 pounds which helps when the rider folds it up to store it small urban spaces or just chooses to roll it to his office/living. Thanks to the asymmetric frame articulated in its center, the bike can fold in just under 5 seconds.

The smartphone app serves as the ignition key, Anti-theft tracking system, Wi-Fi, camera, GPS, social media and contacts that are linked via Bluetooth and displayed on the TFT screen on the scooter’s dash.

The app also shows the bike telematics and live diagnostic features on the go. There is also a built-in speaker to play your favorite track and a USB power socket to keep your smartphone up and running all the time.

Interchangeable body panels, two seat heights, two body designs and a total of five range of colors allow you to individualize the e-bike as you need. All this will come sometime in Summer of 2018 and will be sold all across the world starting from Europe.
