Stunting and Harley-Davidson are two words barely coupled together and you need to a be a little coo-coo to think this, let alone attempt it.

But stunter Rob Carpenter is one man with a reputation for doing some pretty insane things on Harley-Davidsons. This video is a prime example of that very fact where the stunt rider is seen popping up a 90-degree wheelie on Harley's sporty cruiser, the XL 1200 Roadster.

Harley-Davidson XL 1200 Wheelie

In the short Instagram clip, Rob can be seen performing a 90-degree stand-up wheelie aboard his prepped-up XL 1200, that too with one foot off the motorcycle.

What further amps up the viewing experience here are the sparks generated by the rear fender when the bike makes contact with the ground. In case you’re wondering, this isn’t the stock fender and one can clearly see a custom bracket, possibly put in place for the very purpose of generating some fireworks.

As easy as Rob makes it look, the stunt is quite insane, especially when you throw the Roadster’s massive 570-pound curb weight into the equation. Not only does this make life difficult while balancing the bike, but it also makes popping wheelies quite difficult.

All in all, it's not every day that we get to see such physics-defying stunts on Harley-Davidsons and it is surely a sight to behold. Let us know if you like it, so we can direct more of such content your way.

Harley-Davidson XL 1200 Roadster Specs

As I mentioned above, the Harley-Davidson XL 1200 was the company’s sporty cruiser and was taken off the shelves in 2021.

With its 1,212cc engine, the Roadster puts out 76 pound-feet, all of which is sent to the rear wheel via a chain drive. Meanwhile, the engine is housed in a double-cradle chassis mated to USD forks and twin shock absorbers.

Even though the Roadster isn’t available for now, if you’re in the market for a sporty Harley, you can take a look at the new Nightster and the Sportster S.
