The 2015 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is shaping up to be an event befitting its 75th anniversary as more and more events are being announced now that the event is only six weeks away. One of the most recently announced events will culminate at the Sturgis rally, but will have it’s start 1,576 miles away in Los Angeles, California. Veterans Charity, in cooperation with Indian Motorcycles->ke3292 will be hosting a “freedom ride” from Los Angeles to Sturgis where more than a dozen veterans will be taking part in the trip.

During the course of the trip, the traveling party of veterans will be treated to a number of events being thrown specifically for them. This includes a party hosted by Indian Motorcycles in Los Angeles and the unveiling of the company’s 2016 models, as well as those of Polaris, in Las Vegas.

Why it matters

You can understand why people are getting excited about the 2015 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and are planning events accordingly just so they can be part of the festivities. This event is one that I’m especially looking forward to, not because I plan to join in on the fun, but because of the people that will be involved in it.

There’s no question that a lot of American revere the military armed forces all the contributions they make in keeping the peace, both in our local soil and abroad. Having an event that will put a spotlight on their efforts is something I’m completely on board with. It’s even more important to have these types of events for our wounded military brothers and sisters who have served this country without hesitation and need for glory.

So as they transition back to their civilian lives, the least the rest of us can do is give them assistance, no matter what form it may be, so they can return to their normal lives as quickly as possible. This ride aims to do that by specifically using the attention it gets so that the public can be made aware of all the endeavors being put in place to assist our veterans in reintegrating themselves into their respective communities.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t give deserved credit to two Army Airborne Unit veterans Indian Dave and Johnny Reno, who both served in the Airborne forces. They’re the ones primarily responsible for this ride happening, having met in 2014 when both were on their way to Sturgis. Both Dave and Reno teamed up with Robert Manciero at Full Vision Productions to put the event together, including getting Indian Motorcycles to serve as a sponsor for the ride.

Other companies like Champion Sidecars have also stepped up to be part of the ride, further validating the event’s mission of raising awareness to benefit our military veterans. It’s the least any of these companies can do to repay the sacrifices these veterans have made for all of us.
