Yesterday’s news surrounding Valentino Rossi’s first ever appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed brought a lot of excitement for motorcycle fans and for good reason. For as long as the event has been around, the man many consider as the greatest motorcycle racer in history has yet to make the trip to West Sussex. But that’s about to change now that Goodwood Road & Racing has confirmed that Rossi will in fact be one of a handful of racing legends from the motorcycle world that will be in attendance at the Festival of Speed.
In addition to Rossi, other riders that have confirmed their attendance include Casey Stoner, who will be there with his Honda MotoGP bike. Three-time world champion Freddie Spencer will also take part in the event, as will two-time AMA champion Kenny Roberts.
I gotta say, I’m excited to see how these guys do at the festival, especially Rossi who has already promised to ride his Yamaha YZF-RM1 around the hill climb circuit, in addition to all the other activities he says he’s excited to do.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is still a few months away so don’t be surprised if more motorcycle riders are added into this already impressive list. In the meantime, Goodwood Road & Racing has released a preview video of all the riders that are already scheduled to be in attendance.
