You can always count on the Japanese to build vehicles that are so out-of-this-world, they're actually pretty awesome. Their latest brainchild, courtesy of Kinki Knives Industry Corp. and Yodogawa Group, is this trendy little electric tricycle that's made from just about every material you can think of. OK, it's not really everything, but if you can build a ride using materials like bamboo and fan paper, you know you're going to get some attention.

Called the Meguru, the tricycle has a top speed of 40 kmh with a two-hour charge that allows the trike to cover a distance of 40 km. It may not be ideal to use in the streets of Japan, but it sure would come in handy as a tourist vehicle. And best of all, the Meguru is already street-legal so anybody who's interested can buy one of these babies for their own personal use.
