Robbie Maddison Flips at 5000 feet!

Trying to impress your kids can lead to all sorts of nonsense. In the case of stunt riding legend Robbie Maddison, his kids have seen it all - and started doing it themselves - so to impress them takes some doing!

So, when kids electric dirt bike manufacturer Razor wanted to promote their range, they turned to Maddison and persuaded him to perform a stunt that would have even his kids cheering.

The video starts with Maddison and his kids messing around at an MX track, Maddison on his full-size petrol-engined bike and his kids on their Razor electric dirt bikes. When Robbie performs a back-flip, the kids are seriously unimpressed and goad him on to doing two, three of four flips. Undaunted, he borrows one of their electric dirt bikes and takes to the skies.

A custom-built ramp was hoisted 5000 feet into the air underneath a helicopter, with parachute- and Razor electric bike-equipped Maddison on board and a cameraman, ready to let go as Maddison left the ramp.

While there was obviously a healthy pay check for Robbie from Razor, it's still a pretty insane stunt, requiring balls of steel. Once at 5000 feet, Maddison rides down the ramp and off into space, performing at least five backflips before jettisoning the bike and pulling the ripcord of his parachute.

While the bike was destroyed on landing Maddison performs a perfect landing, safe in the knowledge that he has finally impressed his kids!

The things we do for them!
