Triumph started its electric journey back in 2019 and after three years, the company has finally wrapped up the fourth, last, and live testing phase of the TE-1 electric bike. Following this, the British giant is now gearing up to reveal its first electric motorcycle on July 12, 2022.

Triumph TE-1 Electric Bike Unveiling Soon

During the unveil, Triumph will not only show the motorcycle (via testing videos and images, unless you’re invited to the event) but we will find out just how much firepower, range, and charge time the TE-1 boasts.

The expectations are obviously quite high, considering the motorcycle looks inspired by the Speed Triple 1200 RS, a stellar (and established) gas-powered naked. Plus, the bike’s already disclosed top-shelf components – anchors by Brembo, Ohlins suspension, the single-sided swingarm – only up the excitement.

Except for the TE-1’s deets, the important thing post the unveil will be Triumph’s approach and direction in the electric motorcycle space. It wouldn’t be too wrong to expect the British company to announce a full range or perhaps some new electric concepts based on the TE-1, perhaps even give us a timeline for the production-ready electric models.

Triumph TE-1 Electric Bike: What We Know So Far

Triumph announced the TE-1 electric bike project in 2019 in partnership with Williams Advanced Engineering, Integral Powertrain Ltd., and the Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG). The aim of the project was the development of electric motorcycle technologies for its future products and the company took its time to reveal the first sketches of the Speed Triple-lookalike e-bike. Following this, Triumph revealed a few details about the TE-1 including its 15kWh battery capacity and the whopping 180 horsepower output of the electric motor.

Cut to 2022, we were treated with the first images of the TE-1 in February, and backing this up is a short action video posted by Triumph showing a small-but-significant action sequence of the bike.
