In an event attended by over 10,000 Ducatistis, the World Ducati Week 2018 saw passionate motorcyclists from all over the world. Folks participated in around 250 different activities along with 1 World Ducati Wedding and 2 marriage proposals. Serene.

Amongst the host of events and attractions was "The Race of Champions" where top Ducati riders from MotoGP, WSBK and other motorsports arena lined up on the track to battle it out on the new one-off purpose built Panigale V4 S specked out especially for this competition. And 13 of these machines were then put to auction on eBay, which has now concluded. The numbers are out, and it is staggering.

At the biggest Ducati convention, the highlight was The Race of Champions" wherein MotoGP and Superbike riders like Dovizioso, Melandri, Lorenzo, Pirro, Petrucci, Miller, Davies, Rabat, Forés, Abraham, Rinaldi, and Siméon, as will first-rate rider Troy Bayliss who has made Ducati history – all of whom went head to head in a true competition, from free practice to podium.

Each of the 12 riders rode limited-edition Panigale V4 S bikes painted in their own individual racing colors inspired from the bikes used in MotoGP or SBK and will be brimmed with race-spec equipment and tuning. The steering yolk will have a stamp of authenticity showing the rider’s name and race number while his autograph will go in the tank in indelible ink.

So if you fancy buying any of these bikes, don’t. The auction has concluded, and you wouldn’t believe the price of Troy Bayliss’s machine. The final bid for the “Ducati Panigale V4 S # 2 + 1 - Troy Bayliss - Race of Champions WDW 2018” was an astonishing EUR 120,350 ($ 140,000). Yes! A Hundred and Forty Thousand US Dollars for you.

The price of a standard Panigale V4 S wears a price tag of $ 27,495. That makes Troy Bayliss’s machine five times the cost of the standard. It does, however, comes with a host of accessories including Racing saddle in technical fabric, Increased Plexiglass, Mirror holes cover, Brake lever protection, Akrapovic racing silencers, Adjustable pilot footrest kit, Swingarm protection in carbon and titanium, Plate holder removal cover set, Aluminum tank cap, Rizoma brake and clutch levers.

Technically, all these special components with a complete set of original parts, exhausts included, will still confirm for legal road use. The CEO of Ducati Motor Holding, Claudio Domenicali, also will hand over to every owner of the special V4 a signed certificate of authenticity upping the value of the machine.

The rest of the machines were, however, auctioned off for half the price in the auction that generated a total of 7,084 bids from all over the world. Andrea Dovizioso’s machine was auctioned for EUR 62.400 ($ 73,000), Jorge Lorenzo’s Panigale V4 S for EUR 57,800 ($ 67,500) and Danilo Petrucci’s for EUR 45,350 and you get the trail. But none of them is anywhere close to Troy Bayliss figure!
