That is exactly what happened to Spanish custom builders Café Racer Dreams (CRD) last week. Located in Paracuellos de Jarama, Madrid, Spain, CRD is one of the reputed BMW custom specialists located in the area who have been turning out some stunningly beautiful creations over the last couple of years.

Unfortunately, some miscreants, supposedly qualified, broke open their lock and made away with 8 newly customized bikes that were ready for dispatch to their owners inside and outside of Spain. In addition to these stolen CRD, the thieves stole a classic Porsche 356 even.

First, this was a pretty dumb move by the “qualified thieves”. Anyone in and around Spain can easily identify these machines since they were… helloooo… custom built. Unlike production models, custom machines are different. It is the whole point. And in case they stole them for parts to sell, hey wouldn’t even get many customers since the bikes are littered with exclusive components or one-off modifications.

The stolen bikes in question were all vintage motorcycles except for one Triumph Bonneville. Most of them are BMW, three BMW R100 and one R65, a Bimota and finally a Honda 125 competition motorcycle. Then there was also a classic Porsche 356. Ouch. The costs of the theft have been estimated at € 300,000 ($375,000).

Each of those specialist CRD bikes was priced at approximately € 25,000 each ($31,200) on which every specialized mechanic put together a total of 200 hours’ worth of exquisite work on them. Work that had given this Spanish house world-renowned fame and almost 1 million followers on social media.

All their social media pages have been filled with pictures and information including the frame numbers and the Spanish number plates on them. Any help or information you could gather will help them in great length. “Any valid information will be HIGHLY REWARDED.” Says one of them.

WE NEED YOUR HELP! CRD believes in the power of the people. We need YOUR help in this search. Please tag all journalists, bloggers, influencers, and people who work in media that you know. Let’s get this on the news. The more eyes, the better the chance to get these back where they belong. Thank you so much for your continuous help and support.">

But all of this damage doesn’t seem to have corrupted their enthusiasm and professionalism. They’ve already posted about a new stock of motorcycles ready to get pimped on Instagram along with the words ‘You can take away our bikes, but you’ll never our talent. We are back and stronger’.
