Non-Fungible Tokens are the latest buzz-word in the digital world and the makers of the latest James Bond movie and Triumph have teamed up to offer a digital Scrambler 1200 to those with money to burn on nothing!

James Bond's Triumph Scrambler 1200 Available as an NFT

Being associated with a Bond movie is seen as the holy grail of product placement and Triumph scored a big hit when it linked up with the producers of the latest film in the franchise, No Time To Die.

At one point Bond, played by Daniel Craig in his last outing as the secret agent, rides a Scrambler 1200, and Tiger 900s are used in other chase sequences. Since filming ended, one of the Triumphs featured in the movie has been on display at the Triumph Factory Visitor Centre in Hinckley, England.

Now, fans around the world can rejoice as the Scrambler 1200 used in the movie has been converted into a non-fungible token (NFT). This is basically a digital work of art that cannot be shared or exchanged.

9007 digital 007 Triumph Scramblers will be available via digital collecting app VeVe. Each one costs 165 'Gems', which is the equivalent of around $87! That equates to a not-insignificant $783,609 payday for what is, in effect, a screensaver!

What you do get is a 1:1 scale animated 3D digital replica of the bike from the film, along with sound files from the movie. Being 3D, the image of the bike can be spun round, viewed from the top and bottom and zoomed in and out of. Wow!

I'm trying my best not to be cynical about this but I'm not sure that paying $87 to buy something I look at on my laptop screen is anywhere near the top of my list at the moment.
