The World’s Largest All Female Biker Meet is one of the most under-appreciated bike gatherings in the world. Well, it’s time in the shadows of its more popular contemporaries is over. Ridiculously long name notwithstanding, the World’s Largest All Female Biker Meet is getting its long overdue attention.

The event is as the name suggests; it’s the biggest gathering of women and motorcycles in one place. Over 600 women from numerous nationalities are scheduled to attend the meet on August 16, 2015 at the famous Ace Cafe in London. Any female rider who may want to add to that number are free to do so because the event, for all intents and purposes, is open to any riding woman, no matter where they’re from.

It’s the ideal gathering for every woman who has ever expressed a fascination for motorcycles. It’s also a perfect time to show a united front and raise awareness on issues that are a lot of women riders face these days. One such issue is the improvement of lady-specific motorcycle apparel and accessories, which apparently, is one of the main items that this particular gathering wants to address.

An event of this type has been done before, more recently in 2014 in Australia when 221 women showed up to participate in that meet. This time, Nimisha Patel and Sherrie Woolf, two avid motorcycle riders who are largely credited for organizing the event, are determined to wax that number into the sea. Early estimates suggest that the event will have no problems doing that. There’s still two weeks left before the meet, but the attendance number is still trending up and there’s a possibility that it could reach still four figures.

Hopefully, that’s the direction it goes because like many of us, I’m all for women being celebrated for exercising their passions, which in this case is riding and owning motorcycles. It’s time that we give them the attention they deserve.

Why it matters

I fully support any attempt at setting a record turnout for motorcycle meets so I’m all for seeing the World’s Largest All Female Biker Meet get its desired attendance number when the event takes place on August 16, 2015. It might be hard for female motorcycle riders in the US to make the trip, but the event shouldn’t have a problem getting more riders in Europe.

Attendance numbers aside, I think it's a great thing that women are organizing their own motorcycle meets. It shows that passion for motorcycles runs on both ends of the gender spectrum as it should be.

I've met a lot of female motorcycle riders and I can attest that the love for two wheels runs deep in a lot of them. Some of them are even more passionate than their male counterparts, which shouldn't come as a surprise too.

I want to see the World's Largest All Female Biker Meet succeed and from what I'm seeing, I have no reason to doubt that it will.
