Yamaha has a massive global presence in the entry-level sportbike space and to keep this track record going, the Japanese giant has updated its quarter-liter offering, the YZF-R25, for 2022.

The first new color; Vivid Orange Metallic, wraps the motorcycle in a KTM-like orange-grey color. The second addition is the special World Grand Prix 60th anniversary livery, which comprises Yamaha’s signature white/red/yellow colors with retro block graphics and golden alloy wheels to match.

In addition, both the aforementioned colors get golden USD forks for extra pizazz. Color aside, Yamaha has also equipped the R25 with LED indicators for 2022 which, by the way, are not even present on the US-spec 2022 YZF-R3. Ouch. }

For the final change, the R25 gets subtle engine tweaks to help it meet Japanese emission norms. This has had no effect on the twin-cylinder 249cc engine, though, and it still pumps out 35 horsepower and 17 pound-feet.

2022 Yamaha R25 - What’s Unchanged?

Besides these changes, everything else remains the same. So you get the same feature set that comprises a digital LCD instrument cluster, front and rear LED lights, and dual-channel ABS.

Likewise, the underpinnings still include 43mm USD forks up front and a mono-shock outback, along with 17-inch alloy wheels clamped by single disc brakes. Meanwhile, the R25 tips the scales at just 372 pounds.

2022 Yamaha R25 Price

The 2022 Yamaha R25 starts from 668,800 Yen (~$5200) and goes up to 690,800 Yen (~$5400) for the anniversary edition. In case you’re digging this, let us tell you Yamaha only sells the R25 in Asian markets and it won’t be coming to the States any time soon.
