Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. will launch a campaign related to the 40th Tokyo Motor Show 2007 in the world’s largest Internet-based virtual world, the “Second Life” realm operated by US-based Linden Lab.

This campaign will involve the creation of a Tokyo Motor Show type booth in the Japanese residential area “MagSL Tokyo” and virtual models of the 18 Yamaha motorcycle models on display in the Tokyo Motor Show will be handed out free at the booth to requesting residents in a form that can actually be used for riding around the Second Life community. (Some of the models will be distributed in limited numbers)

“Second Life” is a virtual world developed by the US company known as Linden Lab which is said to be one of the largest virtual spaces in the world with up to 9 million users and a monthly subscriber account growth rate of up to 1 million. The Japanese version launched in July of this year has a use population of about 500,000.
