It was a red Lamborghini Countach, parked with its scissor doors open to let the sunlight in, what most probably sparked Alex's love for cars. Even though he was less than three years old when he saw that Gandini masterpiece, the image stuck with him through childhood, albeit his taste in cars has (allegedly) evolved since the 1980s. He then grew up watching the intense track battles between Senna and Prost, but his dream of one day competing in Formula One was about as accomplishable as free energy and world peace. Quitting college in his last year to land a first car writing gig at a local franchise of Top Gear Magazine, he then quickly turned his attention to online media, helping create and then become the editor-in-chief of autoevolution. Following a two-year sabbatical, he returned to autoevolution to find and become friends with Ciprian, whom he joined at TopSpeed at the end of 2014.
While eco-friendly cars like the Tesla Model S P85D work hard to change his opinion, he will never go for an electric appliance on wheels in the detriment of a burbling V-8 engulfed in a body designed with passion instead of logic. His current dream is starting a restomod car business one day, but until then you can find him share his views on the automotive industry among these pages. Lastly, writing about himself in the third person is nowhere near the weirdest thing he did with a keyboard.
