Husqvarna announced today the Norden 901 is confirmed for production as part of its streetbike lineup. After unveiling its first-ever touring model, Husky received overwhelming response at 2019 EICMA on the concept model, and even though it was unclear at the time if it was slated for production, they've decided to move forward.

The Norden 901 Concept Becomes the Norden 901

Showing commitment to its growing streetbike segment, Husqvarna adds the Norden 901 to its production line as its first-ever adventure bike and dips a toe, as it were, into the touring pool. Using decades of experience in off-road and rally, Husky promises advanced rider ergonomics for long-distance travel.

Powered by a bored-out, parallel-twin KTN LC8 engine, the Norden 901 shows its off-road capabilities with a 21-inch front wheel, bash-plate protection, and a 889.5 cc engine tuned for adventure touring. The chassis rides on WP suspension components, and a slim frame allows for clear lines to the ground.

The news is exciting, no doubt, since Husqvarna is a leader in off-road and rally segments, so it's a natural that they join parent company KTM in expanding the streetbike and adventure lineups. I have to wonder, though, if they've discovered how to put some padding in the seat. We'll see.
