The new flagship.
From legendary machines like the Z1 and GPZ900R to modern hyper-bikes like the ZZ-R1100, Kawasaki’s flagship machines have set the performance standards that others have followed. This tradition continues with the incredible new ZZR1400, a machine which delivers as yet unheard of levels of performance and excitement.

The Aura of Power.

Powered by an all-new engine force-fed with Ram Air and fuel injection, the ZZR1400. churns out unheard of levels of thrust. Yet in spite of the incredible performance of Kawasaki’s most powerful power plant ever, careful engine tuning allows almost anyone to enjoy the bike’s softer, more rider-friendly side.

Next Generation Aluminium Monocoque Frame.
Impressive as the ZZR’s engine performance is, it is the lightweight handling qualities. Never has a "big bike" offered such responsive handling. The secret? Kawasaki’s next generation aluminium monocoque frame, that gives the bike both responsive handling qualities and incredible highway stability.

Unmistakable Presence.
As befits its flagship status, the ZZR offers an advanced aerodynamics package and an avant-garde design, including quadruple projector beam headlights . The central Ram Air duct like that of the Ninja supersport bikes gives the ZZR a consistent Kawasaki face.

Excellent Comfort.
Despite its long and low appearance, the ZZR offers a very relaxed sport riding position. Compact without being cramped, the bars are positioned so that riders do not have to stretch to reach them. Low-set footpegs give ample legroom.

Radial Clutch Master Cylinder

Ergonomics & Aerodynamics

The low seat height and narrow seat front make it easy to reach the ground when stopped at lights.

I am an Australian, have been in Europe for 3 months. saw the 1400 for the first tme the other day, not sure if they have been released in oz yet. My first impression was that it isnt as nice to look at as the hire a bus. or busa for those of you that dont know. More modern styling though, but then the busa is bloody ugly anyway.
I guess at the end of the day who gives a what it looks like? If it feels good and it works well for your riding style then its the bike for you.
Top speed? who cares, most of the real world guys will never do 300klms and hour for more than 20 seconds at a time anyway.
Cheers mate, Paul

The 2001 Suzuki Hayabusa clocked on on Arizona flats 213 MPH, not not sure if this was a mod, but It was done by a US military member....does it matter though. I magine if you had a d*ck the size of a canoe... what would you do with it. Enough is enough. Lets look at everything about the machine; speed is only on aspect.
“There’s a gentleman’s agreement between the Japanese manufacturers that no bikes will be built with a top speed of more than 300 kmh. That was initiated when Kawasaki was about to launch its ZX12R, and the world launch was canned because of the concern about the potential bad press regarding the speed of the machine,” - Quoting Wootton.
“That’s why most of the Japanese bikes now have a cut-out where they get to 299.9 kmh and they won’t go any faster. Indeed, the later model Suzuki Hayabusas aren’t as fast as the earlier ones for that reason too,” he says, adding, “but you can get past that and convert them so they run to their real top speed by swapping some electronics if you really enjoy flying through the air after hitting a little 12" imperfection in the asphalt at 230 MPH......say goodbye to your family

first of all the ZZR and the ZX are the same bike... they both have 186mph limiters on them... A powercommander will not effect the top speed of the bike... I

Nice fairing 6 feet wide so it can hold 6 headlights—by far the ugliest bike produced in years and it looks like a big —or a cadillac with a blower lol---like all Kawasakis they produce good power at first then the motors wear out very rapidly—Kawasaki couldnt build a real crank if their life depended on it—want bulletproof buy suzuki—sorry truth from a race engine builder(me) so sue me!

Need ECU change to increase limited top speed of 186, power commander only re-maps the fueling for better through the range performance and does not increase top speed.

ZZR 1400 owner (and GSXR 750), Hereford, England. Yes, a Limey, apologies.

You got speed cameras in the good ole USA? We are plagued by the fu**ing things...

Is it realy worth to change my elaborated busa with the new top gun of akashi....?

  (6023) posted on 05.15.2006

I think this is faster than the hayabusa. this is meant to be the most powerful bike on the market aside from the Suzuki B-King

  (6023) posted on 04.24.2006

Well no! This bike is restricted to 186 mph (300kph) out of the box, but with a power commander (to bypass the limiter) 200 mph ++

pdaix  (431) posted on 03.24.2006

It seems the top speed is really close to the 200mph for the full version of course.

pdaix  (6023) posted on 03.22.2006

Which is faster? Hayabusa or zzr1400

pdaix  (6023) posted on 03.22.2006
