Compact, lightweight and agile. These three words can perfectly describe the 2013 KTM 200 EXC. However even if the, the motorcycle was already considered among the most capable models in its class, KTM decided to improve it even more. Thereby it offers a set of new features for 2013 which include: electric starter, new cylinder head and new carburettor jets. These upgrades result in a more agile handling, better power delivery and increase comfort.

The bikes’ backbone is a high quality, chrome-molybdenum steel frame which offers a great lateral stiffness and is perfectly capable of absorbing jolts introduced by the suspension system.

Power comes from a 1-cylinder, 2-stroke, water-cooled engine with reed intake and exhaust control. The engine has a displacement of 193 cc and is paired with a 6 gear, claw shifted transmission. You also get a kickstarter and a wet multi-disc clutch.

OVERVIEW

Perfect union: the playful handling of a 125 coupled with engine power that comes close to that of a 250. Die KTM 200 EXC redefines user-friendliness in 2013: electric starter, new cylinder head and new carburettor jets! As a result, it's the first choice for all those seeking the best handling, comfort and power outside the competitive classes. Those who don't want to do without the fun factor and who really appreciate easy rideability and low costs.

FRAME

The high quality, chrome-molybdenum steel frame excels with even greater lateral stiffness. It is also better at absorbing jolts introduced by the suspension system, thereby boosting the bike's playful handling and comfort.

TELESCOPIC FORK, NEW SETTING

The latest generation of fully adjustable 48 mm open-cartridge fork "Made in Austria" by WP Suspension provides the highest levels of responsiveness with even more constant damping characteristics. Not least due to the use of a new fork oil and new fork seal rings.

OPTIMISED SWINGARM

The KTM 200 EXC's lightweight, cast aluminium swingarm accommodates the shock absorber centrally in 2013, in order to load the arms evenly. The PDS shock absorber, featuring adjustable rebound and high/low-speed compression damping and new settings, is installed more flatly, hence providing even more progression.

INDIVIDUAL SUSPENSION SETTING

The KTM 200 EXC has its own individual suspension setting in MY 2013, optimally tuned to weight and engine. At the rear, a PDS shock absorber from WP Suspension works with a direct linkage to the upper side of the swingarm. The wide range of setting options for rebound damping and high- and low-speed compression damping are standard on KTM bikes.

Sensitive: Brakes from Brembo® are standard equipment on the KTM offroaders and, together with braided steel brake lines and lightweight Wave brake discs, they are recognised as the measure of all things in terms of application and brake performance. The further refined rear brake cylinder has a new internal mechanism. This leads to less wear at the rubber seal and results in a longer service life in tough offroad use.

BRAKES

The airbox on the KTM 200 EXC model year 2013 allows maximum air to pass through, but minimal dust and spray. Replacement of the twin-air filter takes approx. 15 seconds, without any tools. Absolutely "READY TO RACE".

AIRBOX

The KTM 200 EXC has bodywork with extremely slim ergonomics and excellent contact points between rider and machine. It provides unlimited freedom of movement. Newly styled graphics give the models a fresher appearance in 2013.
