"Terrible" Chareyre brothers hit the jackpot in Latina
The second race Supermoto Italian Championship was held in Latina, near Rome, last weekend. The moves have been made for Aprilia Off Road in the World Supermoto Championship they prepare to begin the 2008 season with a new asset. After having won four international titles (the 2004 Riders’ title with Jerome Giraudo, the 2006 Riders’ and Constructors’ with Thierry Van Den Bosch and his SXV 4.5, and the 2007 with the SXV 5.5), the twins from Noale demonstrated to be such weapons of success that many top teams and riders chose them for 2008.

In the final races of the Supermoto World Championship 2007 in Megara/Greece, Adrien Chareyre in the S1 Class (no capacity limit) finished 5th, which gained 330 points in the overall season ratings w and won the World Championship title in this class. In second place was Thierry Van Den Bosch on Aprilia, and Adrien’s brother Tomas finished third, also on Husqvarna.

Stafford Springs, Connecticut speedway was the hosting venue for round six of the AMA Supermoto series. The layout of the track was fast with a nice dirt section, which was built out of sand.
Both team riders set great qualifying times for gate positions with Darryl Atkins 2nd place to KTM rider Kurt Nicol with a very small difference of .007. Ben was .700 behind Atkins. Kenan Sofuoglu (Hannspree Ten Kate Honda CBR600RR) finished second in the Brands Hatch Supersport race and in doing so he scored his first and Honda’s sixth Riders’ Championship. All six have come from the Ten Kate Honda team, the first with Fabien Foret in 2002, then Chris Vermeulen (2003), Karl Muggeridge (2004) and Sebastien Charpentier (2005 and 2006). Yamaha riders Mark Burkhart, Grant Langston and Nate Adams took home an impressive cache of medals at the X Games 13 in Los Angeles, California on Saturday, August 4. Burkhart claimed the prestigious gold in the Super Moto competition aboard his Graves Motorsports YZ450F, while Nate Adams earned silver in Moto X Freestyle aboard his YZ250 and Grant Langston likewise took silver in the inaugural Moto X race on his brand new factory 2008 YZ450F.

Team Husqvarna Racing’s Australian 2006 Supermoto Champion Troy Herfoss headed off to New Caledonia to contest the 3rd Supermoto of Noumea.
