The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 has been a go-to motorcycle for custom bikemakers looking to create easy-on-the-pocket builds. But MK Designs, based out of India, has something for existing customers, can up the sport quotient on your GT 650 by a sizeable chunk.

Royal Enfield GT 650 Fairing Kit

Meet the FF650 Cafe R full-fairing kit by MK Designs, which, unlike custom builds, is a clean, reversible bolt-on kit (not that you’d want to go back).

As the name suggests, the kit basically transforms your naked cafe racer Continental GT 650 into a dazzling fully-faired motorcycle. It not only looks super-sporty but also provides much-needed wind protection for riders planning to hit the highway or do top-speed stints.

The full fairing kit comprises a headlight fairing, side panels, belly pan, an aftermarket headlight, and lower mounts for the handlebar which reduce the clip-on height by 25mm. Once put up, all these sit well with each other and look as if it’s supplied by Royal Enfield itself rather than a third party. Add to this the sportier riding position (courtesy of the handlebar mount) and you’ll feel like a proper sportbike rider in no time.

My personal favorite here is the sleek belly pan which sweeps up towards the exhausts bringing it in line with the upswept exhausts without leaving any unnecessary gaps. This would, however, decrease the overall ground clearance of the bike.

Now, before Interceptor 650 owners start complaining, let us tell you the company also offers a similar kit for INT 650. But you will need a set of aftermarket clip-on handlebars for the bike before this can be bolted on.

The total kit, with bolts, fairings, and everything else, weighs just 15.43 lbs, thanks to a reinforced plastic build. This means the added weight won’t make a worldly difference on the bike’s performance, which is already a little low for a 650cc offering.

So how much will this drool-worthy kit cost you? Well, MK Design has priced the FF650 kit at just $455 (converted from Indian rupees). Now while that might sound like a bargain, the company is yet to start exporting the kit. Nevertheless, you can always visit the company site and get in touch if you’re truly interested.
