British engineering and refinement standards have been raised with the introduction of the latest Daytona 675! Triumph took the decision to slightly refine their supersports model and they managed well with the self-imposed challenge. Although power was not increased, the Daytona has probably the best chassis in the middleweight sports class, making it an award-winning machine.
The Triumph Daytona 675 was always a lonely wolf, but German company Six Monkeys did their best in coming up with a big brother for the only supersport model of the British motorcycle manufacturer. They brought in a 1050cc engine and then tuned the fuel injection system and the airbox so that they can talk big numbers such as 139bhp at 9,100rpm and 116Nm of torque at 7,600rpm.
While we’re talking about the same powerplant as found on the Triumph Tiger and Speed Triple models, this bike’s carbon fiber bodywork is entirely new and the overall shape and style does remind us of the middleweight production Daytona. Also, this custom motorcycle features Wilbers suspension components and steering damper, while the exhaust system was supplied by BOS and the tires are Dunlop Qualifier RR.
Does this look like a Triumph Daytona 675 on steroids or what? I’m not sure about the color though.
Triumph’s middleweight supersport model, the Daytona 675, has had a very successful year and it all started when the British engineers tweaked the engine for 3bhp more, reduced weight with as much as 3kg and added Nissin calipers, while also giving it a sportier look. With all these improvements, it won the Supertest and Masterbike awards, while MCN called it ‘Sportsbike of the Year’.
So this is clearly a very successful model that Triumph keeps virtually unchanged for 2010 and hopes for at least the same results while preparing their next move. Meanwhile, fans will have to declare themselves satisfied by the new Caspian Blue paint with gold wheels or even turn to the Red and Black 2009 color schemes, which are still available for next year’s model.
Apart from the rather cool new color scheme, the 2010 Triumph Daytona 675 also comes with new clocks, which do look better, but could have brought in more functions apart from average fuel economy and lap timer-equipped setup, which also characterize the 2009 model year.
Because we know what state of mind this special edition 2009 Triumph Daytona 675 induces, we’ll resume to saying that only 350 examples will be sold in the US while Europe is sure to get a greater number as it has first been announced for sale on the old continent. White painted and built on a blue frame, this bike here is a great example of the exquisite British taste. Hell, it’s even better than the Italian one, if you ask me, as it addresses to the average buyer and starts at $9,999.
Some riders simply can’t deal with the fact that they can only ride their motorcycles when the weather outside allows it and that’s how we end up seeing those same riders soaked and then on the verge of pneumonia. And even those riders find alternative solutions to their commuting and/or racing needs when dealing with ice covered surfaces, but the most consistent of those few left give another meaning to “alternative solutions”.
This here is a Triumph Daytona 675 especially modified to be raced on ice tracks. While the aftermarket exhaust and the absence of the headlights is nothing out of the ordinary for any racing bike, the spiked wheels look well out of place given the type of bike. It won’t lean as much as a regular shoed version, but it does the trick.
The English site Performance Bikes has created the latest hypothesis – a very accurate one, if you allow – regarding the 2010 Triumph Daytona 1050. Basing on the fact that Triumph will use the three-cylinder engine currently powering the Speed Triple and Tiger models, they designed basically a sharper Daytona 650 on steroids.
Indeed, the 2010 Triumph Daytona 1050 is expected to look much like his middleweight brother and the rendering, although very realistic, is a little exaggerated. For instance, those Audi-like headlights do look good, but would never light the bike’s way into the night while the passenger seat is rather narrow, but apart from that it shouts out loud the Triumph name.
With a single-sided swingarm –and the implicit Speed Triple wheel –, narrow body and two beautiful colors, this is one very good overall image of what Triumph will be adding to their lineup in 2010.
Triumph has its own special way of celebrating its entry in the World Supersport Championship as Together with the Scuderia SC Team, it has created the Garry McCoy World Supersport replica of the Daytona 675.
The bike not only celebrates the first year for Triumph racing in the World Supersport Championship, but also the Triumph-SC partnership so the new approach towards this bike had to be a little different. In fact, they’ve made it look like a racing bike with headlights, two seats and mirrors, something that puts Triumph on the map.
Because we are talking about a street bike, the Garry McCoy replica was kept “pretty much” the same. I am here referring to the tuning cylinder head and gas flowing, camshaft inlet and valve kit. Though it is improper said the same as he power commander Dynojet increases performance and Termignoni full titanium race system deals with the extra power, making the bike sound as good as it looks. It still had to remain stable through the corners so the FG Gubellini was the perfect solution for the question mark appearing in the minds of Triumph engineers.
Of course, it had to feature the Garry McCoy replica paintwork and Triumph SC decal kit and there have also been added carbon parts such as the front and rear mudguards and frame protections.
So if you were considering on buying a Triumph Daytona 675, you can now have the tuned-up and special painted version for 14,000 euros. Isn’t that great? But what if you already have a Daytona and wish to upgrade it like this? No problem at all as the kit can also be sold separately for 3,500 Euros, but you’ll have to deal with the mounting in this case.
The Assen track appears threatening in front of Triumph Italy BE1 Racing so the team meticulously prepares the now imminent start of the fourth round of Supersport season, especially after the good impression it left at Valencia.
Built in 1949, the Dutch track is considered the highlight of motorcycle racing because of the medium and high speed that riders are needed to coquet with.

Team Triumph BE1 Racing Italy managed to obtain a top ten placement at the third round of World Supersport championship. Australian Mark Aitchison, initially on the 21st place is the author of this great performance after a fierce comeback.
Italian Ivan Clementi, which until the fall situated among the best racers also confirmed to be able to get in this top, but during the fuss of the early rounds he closed the front while entering the curve ending up on the ground. It’s a pity because (...)
In one of the most contested classes, 600cc super sport, there wasn’t anything else seen despite four cylinders inline or high-revving V-twins. But things were about to change together with Triumph’s presentation of the Daytona 675. Uniqueness was the key and the results were fabulous.
Until 31 December of this year, the "Carbon Kit" version is available for 13.400 euro($17.650) rather than 14.620 euro($19.250).
