Pagani is a company with a very short existence - at least when compared to others in the same market - but each of its models have been impressive right from the start. The Zonda was an instant sensation, and so was the Huayra. The Utopia, on the other hand, is a supercar of contrasts. Some love it, while some can't understand its weird design or its place in the Pagani lineup. Both the Zonda and the Huayra were also offered in track-only guise as the Zonda R and Huayra BC, so it is to be expected for the Utopia to follow the same trend. While Pagani has said nothing in this regard just yet, Nardo Design imagined such a car and shared its creation with us on his Instagram account.

The Naked Carbon Fiber Finish Makes All The Difference

Both the Zonda R and the Huayra BC had one thing in common - they were offered with a naked carbon fiber finish, and this hypothetical Utopia R follows the same line. When compared to the standard Utopia, the R model has a massive rear wing and a roof scoop - similar to the other two R models. A new set of carbon fiber canards and special wheels made from the same material complete the look. A special, race-spec fuel filler receptacle, some Pirelli decals, and the "23" racing number placed on the door is a reminder this is not your regular Utopia. The exterior changes might not be as extreme as one would expect – but they completely transformed the look of the Utopia and almost made its exterior design acceptable.

A Possible Utopia R Should Have Some Power And Shed Some Weight

If you take a look back through history, Pagani’s track-focused supercars are not necessarily a lot more powerful, but they are lighter and more aerodynamic. The same treatment will most likely also be applied to the Utopia R. The base supercar is powered by the usual 6.0-liter twin-turbo V-12 mill from Mercedes AMG. It delivers a total of 852 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque, and with the previous racing models usually having 20-25 more horses, expect the Utopia R to go up to about 875 horsepower. It will retain the same Xtrac seven-speed manual or automated manual transmission that will send the power to the rear wheels. If the Utopia R sheds the usual 130 - 140 kilos (286 - 300 pounds), it will put the supercar in the low 2,500-pound range. This means the Utopia R should deliver performance figures never seen before from a Pagani.

Total production for the Pagani Utopia is limited to only 99 units, so the Utopia R will be built in very limited numbers. But it is not like there are many people out there that can pay millions for it! We just want the final product to look a little like this rendering!
