The launch of the eight-generation Chevrolet Corvette came with lots of good news, but also with some bad news. On one hand, the new Corvette is offered with a mid-engined layout that makes the C8 the most powerful naturally aspirated model of its kind, and also the quickest. On the other hand, GM said that the eighth-generation Corvette develops enough power from the factory, so it highly encrypted the engine's software, making it impossible for any tuner in the world to crack it. And while many have tried so far, and either failed or continue trying, ProCharger is the only company in the world that is offering the first, fully calibrated Powertrain Control Module (PCM) for a supercharged C8 Corvette.

The eighth-generation Corvette is offered with a 6.2-liter V-8 engine that delivers a total of 490 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, or 495 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque if you opt for the Z51 Performance Package. whether you opt for the Z51 package or not, the C8 Corvette is already 35 horsepower more powerful than the model it replaces. But then came the C8 Z06 with its 670 horsepower under the hood, and the gap between the two models became huge. So, is no wonder that tuners are trying to find a way to improve this.

ProCharger is offering the world's first Stage-II system supercharger kit for the C8 Corvette - an update that will take the final output up to more than 725 horsepower. The main ingredient of the update is a self-contained ProCharger head unit secured with heavy-duty CNC billet brackets. There is also an air-to-water intercooler that helps keep the temperature down, a calibrated PCM, plus several carbon fiber elements and durable coatings.

The dyno testing was made at 7.5 psi of boost, but ProCharger said the system can also run at 5 psi of boost, when it will only deliver 665 horsepower. Both upgrades work with 91- to 93-octane pump fuel. As for the system itself, it is an easy bolt-on upgrade and will make no permanent changes to the vehicle. Installing the system requires the removal of an inner fender liner, the rear trunk panel, and the car’s under panels. And, of course, the calibration of the PCM – this is why it is necessary that all the updates are done directly by ProCharger. You can also opt for a few other upgrades, like adding a black or polished supercharger and brackets, adding a helical gear set for noise reduction, and carbon fiber covers for the engine bay.
