McLaren set the fastest time today at Monza with its Fernando Alonso. Alonso set a time of 1m 22.386s and in this way he overtook Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen ( 1m 22.446s ) but also his team mate Lewis Hamilton who did 1m 22.618s. Raikkonen’s team mate, the Brazilian Felipe Massa finished on the 4th place.

The three drivers were closely followed by the driver of the Wiliams team, Nico Rosberg who finished on the 5th position. Bmw Sauber’s Kubica followed him but he was unhappy with his car due to the fact that its brakes were not well balanced.

Honda, instead had a great day thanks to Jenson Button’s 1m 23.668 but we cannot say the same thing about his team mate Rubens Barrichello who set a time of 1m 24.564s.

A great surprise came from the Spyker monoposts. The Dutch team introduced its new Spec-B monopost and it seems it made a smart move. Spyker’s driver, Adrian Sutil overtook the Scuderia Torro Rosso cars for the first time. And you know what this means. It means that Spyker has finally a competitive car.

The day was a calm one with small problems. All the pilots were relaxed before the qualifying session. All remains for us to do is wait for tomorrow to see who gets the pole position.
