Raikkonen the fastest in practice session at Istanbul
In today’s practice session, Kimi Raikkonen, Ferrari’s driver set the fastest time with his lap of 1m 27.988s .
In the McLaren team things are looking good due to the problems between Alonso and Hamilton after the Hungarian Grand Prix.Hamilton set the third-fastest time of the day while his team mate Fernando Alonso placed 6th with 1m 28.947s.. The two McLaren drivers had the same problems with their monoposts, a small gearbox oil leak which cause the clutch to slip.
Raikkonen’s teammate, Felipe Massa set the 5th time of the day with 1m 28.884s.
Toyota had nothing to complain in today’s run. Their pilots, Ralf Schumacher (3rd on 1m 28.773s) and Jarno Trulli (4th on 1m 28.874s) made quite a run but let’s hope this will continue tomorrow in the qualifying session.
Nico Rosberg, Williams driver had again a good day finishing on 7th position while his team mate Alex Wurz finished on 9th place.
Heikki Kovalainen and his team mate Giancarlo Fisichella finished on 5th and 8th places while in the afternoon they were on 8th and 12th places.Their rivals from Bmw Sauber went well,Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica finishing on 9th and 11th in the morning and 10th and 13th in the afternoon.
In the Red Bull team Coulthard finished 11th in the afternoon.Mark Webber had a very bad day due to the changing of his monopost’s engine. Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello didn’t do too much with their Hondas. Barrichello damaged his car after he went over the manhole cover while Button wasn’t too happy with the set-up of his monopost.
Super Aguri’s Takumo Sato finished 16th while Anthony Davidson, his team mate lost control of his car in Turn 3 and damaged his front of the car in the tyre wall. Their rivals from Scuderia Toro Rosso, Tonio Liuzzi and Sebastian Vettel finished on 18th and 19th place.
Spyker, as we know used the same A-spec car due to the delaying of the B-spec monopost, finished the day with their Sakon Yamamoto and team mate Adrian Sutil on last positions.
