Justin Wilson won his first race of the season in the Champ Car series at the Assen Grand Prix. The driver of RuSPORT team overtook the pole-sitter, Sebastien Bourdais,who finished on the 7th position due to a software glitch in the Power-to-Pass system that caused the pitlane speed limiter to kick in.

Justin Wilson took the provisional pole position on the race track from Assen. Wilson overtook Simon Pagenaud of Team Australia with almost
0.9 seconds. They were followed closely by PKV Racing’s Tristan Gommendy.
Tristan Gommendy took the third place while Graham Rahal obtained the 4th position. Sebastien Bourdais was not so lucky this time due to the fact that he obtained the 6th place while Oriol Servia overtook him and placed his monopost on the 5th position for Forsythe team.
