Casey Stoner takes the pole at the Czech Grand Prix
Casey Stoner, the current leader of the Championship, took the pole position ahead of the two Repsol Honda motorcycles.
The Ducati Marlboro Team rider overtook the Honda motorcycle driven by Nicky Hayden with 0.280 seconds. Dani Pedrosa, Hayden’s team mate followed them closely finishing on the 3rd place.
John Hopkins, had been one of the few riders to get close to Casey Stoner in the practice session, but the Suzuki rider wasn’t so lucky in the qualifying session, finishing on the 4th place. At Turn 7 Hopkins slid into the gravel, but despite the crash his previous run had been enough for the 4th place.
"The Doctor" Valentino Rossi wasn’t so lucky today finishing on the 6th position. Stoner’s team mate, Loris Capirossi followed closely the Yamaha bike of the Italian rider, finishing on the 7th place ahead of Chris Vermeulen and his Suzuki motorcycle.
Vermeulen overtook Colin Edwards and Sylvain Guintoli who closed the top 10 with his Dunlop Tech 3 Yamaha.
