Casey Stoner wins the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix
The 25 years old Casey Stoner won the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix.He dominated the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix race at Laguna Seca from start to finish on Sunday to take his sixth win of the year.
Stoner passed the finish line with an advantage of almost 10 seconds ahead of his compatriot Chris Vermeulen (Rizla Suzuki).Vermeulen was followed by Marco Melandri (Honda Gresini) who had a superb race, from the 10th place to the 3rd.
John Hopkins (Rizla Suzuki) and Nicky Hayden (Repsol Honda) hadn’t a very good day because they were involved in a dramatic incident on the first corner, when they collided and were immediately taken out of contention.
World Champion Hayden’s dreams of celebrating a hat-trick with this 3rd win were destroyed as he continued the race at the back of the pack before retiring when were 10 laps to go.
Rossi finished on the 4th place and his dream of winning the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix ended. On the 5th place was Dani Pedrosa(Repsol Honda) followed by Randy de Puniet and Anthony West both on Kawasaki motorcycles.
Makoto Tamada finished his best race of the season in his Dunlop Yamaha Tech 3 on the 8th place.
Alex Barros finished 9th overtaking Roger Lee Hayden on his Kawasaki on 10th. Colin Edwards (Fiat Yamaha) finished on the 11th place and closed the grid at the Laguna Seca race.
