Red Bull to give a little help to Scott Speed
Helmut Marko, the man responsable with Red Bull driver’s programme, said that Scott Speed will be supported by the famous energy drinks company to drive in the Nascar championship.
Speed entered the US Red Bull Driver search programme in 2003 and since then he had been a Red Bull driver. The American driver left Scuderia Torro Rosso F1 team after he had a fight with former boss Franz Tost in the European Grand Prix. Marko said that Speed could enter the team owned by Red Bull in the Nextel Cup. The Totota Camrys of the team are currently driven by Champ Car star AJ Allmendinger and Brian Vickers.
Red Bull needs urgent a good driver, because this season has been almost a disaster for the team, due to the fact that Vickers qualified for 14 events, while Allmendinger has only made the field eight times. Marko is thinking to test Speed on some Busch races and if this works well he will be moved in the Nextel Cup.
The team is currently on the 39th and 47th positions in the driver standings and their best performance in this season was when Vickers won the 5th place in the Coca-Cola 600 event.
