With both Ford and Chevrolet introducing their electric pickups - the F-150 Lightning and the Silverado EV, respectively – it is clear that Ram is going to be late to the party. After being announced and teased for the first time during the company's 2021 EV Day, Ram's electric truck will make its first appearance at 2023 CES, on January 5th, 2023. It will, however, only be shown as a concept. It will be called the 1500 Revolution BEV, with the production vehicle set to arrive in 2024. It will be yet another step Stellantis takes towards a full electric portfolio by 2030.

With Ram being the last major American truck-maker to add the electric truck to its lineup, it is obvious that it will have to stand out. Ever since it was announced, Ram announced the focus will be on towing and hauling. The announcement about its unveiling at CES doesn't reveal much about this, but Stellantis promises "the Ram Revolution BEV Concept is a visionary road map and a glimpse into the future, showing how the leading truck brand will once again redefine the pickup truck segment."

According to the first details we have on it, the 1500 EV will be built on the STLA Frame, the BEV-by-design body-on-frame architecture, and it will be loaded with advanced technology features. While there are no other details on the EV truck, when the STLA platform was announced, it was revealed that it will underpin cars, SUVs, and pickup trucks. There will be four different versions of this platform. Small and Medium versions will offer a range of 500 (310) to more than 700 kilometers (435 miles) and will be found mostly under vehicles in Europe. The Large version will have more than 800 kilometers of range, while the Frame version, for SUVs, pickup trucks and commercial vehicles, has a promised range of 500 kilometers.

If that will be the case, and the 1500 EV will indeed deliver 500 km (310 miles), it will provide a better range than the F-150 Lightning that has a starting range of 240 miles, but it will fall short of the Silverado EV – with a promised range of 400 miles.

Expect to hear more about the future 1500 EV in the next month, with the concept’s reveal at 2023 CES providing a first look at the truck’s final design language.
