2022 BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe

BMW has revealed the second-gen 4 Series Gran Coupe that comes with four doors, two engine options, and a starting price of a little over $45,000

BMW has launched the second-gen of the 4 Series Gran Coupe. Apart from the little tweaks and enhancements in all departments, it now comes as a four-door vehicle

BMW offers it in two trims - the performance M440i xDrive...

... and the base 430i

The biggest change on the outside includes the addition of the rear doors

Up front it comes with the ‘unavoidable’ kidney grille

The GC comes with adaptive LED headlights as standard, whereas BMW Laserlights are optional

Both the models come with 18-inch wheels as standard and 19-inch as optional

BMW has worked on its aerodynamics, too. It features stuff like an active air flap control system, air curtains, almost sealed underbody, etc.

The M440i xDrive comes with exclusive changes, like the signature U-shaped design of BMW M models on the front bumper, Cerium Grey-finished kidney grille frame and vertical trims around the air curtains

An M-specific spoiler is present here, too

Things aren’t a whole lot different on the inside. The 2022 4 Series Gran Coupe comes with the same layout and pretty much the same equipment, too

You can opt for an M Sport Package on either of the trims that will add an M leather steering wheel, door sill plates bearing the M logo, and M Aluminum Tetragon interior trim

The GC features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel, and a 10.3-inch touchscreen on the center console

The 430i comes with a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged engine that puts out 255 horses and 295 pound-feet of torque. It takes 5.8 seconds to gallop to 60 mph from rest

The M440i xDrive, on the other hand, features a 3.0-liter, straight-six turbo mill that churns out 382 horses and 369 pound-feet of torque. It takes 4.4 seconds from 0-60 mph

The M440i xDrive powers all the wheels, whereas the 430i powers just the rear wheels

Both the engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and feature Launch Control

The top speed is limited to 130 mph, but can be raised to 155 mph if you opt for the performance tires

The 2022 BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe is priced at $44,800 for the 430i and $58,000 for the M440i xDrive. This excludes a destination charge of $995

The production is expected to begin next month and the car will arrive in August 2021
