2023 Chevy Corvette Z06: Secrets Of the Z07 Package

There’s more to the Z07 package than a fancy number and some secret tuning

The New C8 Corvette Z06 is awesome on its own, but what about the Z07 Package? There are some secrets that make the Z07 package what it is, and this is what you need to know.

The Z06 features Chevy’s FE6 suspension system, which is an upgrade from the Z51’s FE4 system that’s stiffer and more dynamic. The Z07 features an FE7 suspension system with revised sprint and anti-roll rates (and carbon-ceramic brakes)

The C8 Z06’s suspension system is 35-percent stiffer than that of the C8 Z51, but when you opt for the Z07, stiffness goes up by 8% beyond that. The Z06 and Z07 feature the exact same shocks, but the control strategy is different

The Z06 naturally has larger brakes than the Z51 C8 – 14.6in front and 15-inch rear (up by 1in and 1.7in, respectively) but the Z07 package increases that to 15.7in in the front and 15.4-inches in the rear. It also comes with carbon-ceramic brakes.

The Carbon Revolution wheels will shave 41 pounds of unsprung weight from the C8 Z06 (and Z07) but are optional across the lineup. These wheels are stronger than the aluminum wheels but can reduce your lap time by as much as 1.5 seconds!

Tire pressure strategy is different too. For street use, you should run 35 PSI in the front and rear (up from the traditional 30 PSI) but if you’re on the track, you need to run 24 PSI cold. For long-track usage, Chevy will release a third strategy closer
