2022 BMW X3

BMW’s revised X3 is here and it brings a lot of cool new features

For 2022 the BMW X3 scores more than a few changes

And there's a lot more than just the new aesthetics

Starting with the angrier "Eyes" for the revised X3

The new headlight design is sharper and narrower

Overall, a more agressive front end

Slightly diferent kidney grille and a new bumper design

There's also a new taillight design

The pincer-shaped LEDs look futursitic, especially with the black outline

It's a cleaner rear end

The rear foglights have been relocated close to the new diffuser

On the side, we see new 19-inch wheels

They come from the iX3 and are optional (of course)

New exterior colors are also available

There are 11 colors from the stanard set alone and the M and Individual lines will add even more

The interior comes with better standard equipment

12.3-inch (optional) touchscreen and a center console ala-BMW 4-Series

The sport seats are now standard

They feature Sensatec upholstery.

And there is a wide variety of trim materials and colors available for the interior

A flexible and generous interior

Plenty of room for the family and a cargo capacity of 19.4 to 56.5 cubic feet

The engines have also been revised

A 48-Volt mild-hybrid system has been added to all engine options

And there is also the X3 30e PHEV

Up to 31 miles on electricity, over 117 mpg, and 0 to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds

But the X3 M40i is above it, in terms of performance

With 360 horsepower, 367 pound-feet, and a 0-60 mph time of 4.7 seconds

A well-priced proposition

The 2022 X3 starts at $44,695 and can go up to $58,795 for the M40i

But the Mercedes GLC-Class is a strong competitor

With a similar pricing, interior space, and more engine options

The Volvo XC60 is also one to watch out for

It has a great interior and a good choice of MHEV and PHEV engine options, but slightly less cargo space

But overall, the X3 is a solid proposition

Despite the crowded and competitive segment
