Just like ABT Sportsline is to Audi, Manhart is to BMW. The German aftermarket company is known to customize Bimmers quite tastefully. They look quite different from the stock models, but nothing too extravagant. Their latest build is a testimony to that. Manhart has come up with its own version of the 2021 BMW M3 Competition called the MH3 600. The car comes with a black-and-gold combination on the outside that looks swell. But, it’s not just this. It also makes over 100 horses more and features a different suspension setup and exhaust system.

What Makes The MH3 600 Special?

The Manhart MH3 600 comes with the tuner’s signature gold-and-black color combination. The black-painted car with tastefully placed golden decals looks pretty neat. It doesn’t look extravagant from any angle. If I were to nitpick, the MH3 600 decal on the windshield is the only thing I’d get rid of. You can opt for the carbon outfit by splurging extra monies. This includes a front spoiler, a rear spoiler, side skirts, and aero flicks from the M Performance range, along with an in-house carbon rear diffuser that wraps around the twin tailpipes accurately.

The stock car rides on 19-inch wheels up front and 20-inch wheels at the back. They are wrapped in 275/35 and 285/20 section low profile tires at the front and back, respectively. Manhart, however, has changed this to a 21-inch ‘Concave One’ setup all around. You can either have the wheels finished in satin black with golden outlines or full gold wheels. Our pick would be the former, though. The front wheels are shod in 255/30 section tires whereas the rear wheels are wrapped in 295/25 section rubber.

On the inside, the changes are limited. Tuners tend to leave the cabin customizations to the customer’s taste and we expect the same here as well. All Manhart has mentioned is that the seats will be upholstered in two-piece carbon covers.

The Manhart MH3 600 Makes A Lot More Power

The BMW M3 Competition is powered by a 3.0-liter, six-cylinder twin-turbo engine. In the stock form, it makes 503 horses and 479 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to the wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The car takes 3.8 seconds to sprint to 60 mph from rest and has a top speed of 155 mph. It can be unlocked to up to 180 mph.

The tuner hasn’t listed the 0-60 mph time, but said that the MH3 600 can sprint to 124 mph in less than 10.5 seconds and can hit the 155 mph mark in under 17 seconds. To put things into perspective, this is four seconds quicker than the stock M3 Competition!

The tuner has swapped the stock exhaust system with a stainless steel rear silencer with a valve control function and a quad-tailpipe setup. You can have these 100-mm tailpipes either with a carbon finish or a ceramic coat. If this doesn’t float your boat, you can spend some additional moolah and get Manhart Race downpipes that come without catalytic converters, as well as Manhart OPF-Delete replacement pipes with 200-cell HJS catalytic converters. These aren’t legal in Germany, but the tuner exports them.

As for the suspension setup, Manhart has equipped the car with H&R springs and a Variant 4 coilover suspension system sourced from KW suspensions. This lowers the front end by 1.2 inches and the rear by 0.4 inches for a meaner stance.

How Much Does The MH3 600 Cost?

There’s no word on the cost, but we expect the MH3 600 to cost well over $110,000 including the cost of the donor vehicle. The 2021 BMW M3 Competition starts at $72,800 in the U.S.
