2022 Kia EV6 Crossover Arrives in the States To Put Ford In Check

The Kia EV6 Crossover EV could put some pressure on the Ford Mach E

The 2022 Kia EV6 Crossover arrives in the States

As the first vehicle in the company's ‘Plan S’ strategy - 11 all-new electric cars by 2026

The crossover carries a unique name:

"EV" stands of course for "Electric Vehicle," while 6 indicated the car’s position in the lineup

The EV6 launches a new design language called "Opposites United"

Inspired by the contrasts found in nature and everyday life

A few unique elements will help you easily identify this new design philosophy:

"Digital Tiger" grille; unique-shaped headlights; flush exterior door handles and a spoiler that is actually a high rear deck

The beauty of the exterior is combined with the usability of the interior

All the materials used come from recycled plastic or 100% vegan leather

The EV6 also offers a bunch of cool technologies:

A 12-inch TFT center cluster and infotainment screens; Augmented Reality Head-Up Display and a lot more

The crossover is also the perfect for every-day trips to the market:

It offers a minimum of 27.7 cubic feet of cargo space; or 53.5 cubic feet with the seats folded

The car is powered by a energy-dense Nickel-Cobalt-Manganese battery pack

With customers being able to choose between two different sizes: 58.0 kWh and 77.4 kWh

Power goes from a basic 167 horsepower for the 58.0 kWh version up to 576 horsepower in the 77.4 kWh AWD version

The most powerful version will go from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds

Range goes up to 300 miles, and the EV6 is offered with the world’s first patented multi-charging system supporting 400v and 800v DC charging

With this one you can add almost 70 miles in 5 minutes, or 210 miles in under 18 minutes

Kia will offer a EV6 First Edition limited to only 1,500 units

You can reserve it starting June 3, 2020

Sales will begin in early 2022, but the GT will arrive in late 2022
