Despite being around since 2014, the Mercedes AMG GT has proven to be a capable platform, which is why the performance specialists from Affalterbach are introducing another track-oriented version of the flagship sports car. The Mercedes AMG GT Track Series is not only the most powerful customer version of the AMG GT, but it also celebrates 55 years of AMG.

The Mercedes AMG GT Track Series is not just the most powerful version of the model, but also the most powerful customer sports car developed by AMG. The AMG GT Track Series is also the second car to use the flat-plane version of the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8.

This is more than the previous flagship of the AMG GT lineup – the AMG GT Black Series, which develops 730 horsepower and 590 pound-feet (800 Nm) from a flat-plane version of AMG’s V-8. The Mercedes AMG GT Track Series is said to be the closest you can get to the feel of a GT3 race car.

The GT Track Series also comes with a unique style, featuring an even more aggressive and motorsport-inspired body kit that trumps even the Black Series. More vents, a bigger wing, and a front grill taken straight off the racing version of the car. Being the most track-oriented of any Mercedes AMG GT, the Track Series is not road-legal and can only be used on a racetrack. The Mercedes AMG GT Track Series will be built in a short production run of 55 examples.
