We know that the 2023 Nissan Z won’t be available in Europe, we know that the Nissan 400Z Nismo could be a hybrid, and there’s a good chance that there may even be a 400Z convertible. But, before all of that happens, the Nissan Z coupe needs to go into production, and a new report has shed light on when that might happen and when it will officially go on sale.

2023 Nissan Z Could Go on Sale in June

It’s been more than half a year since Nissan revealed the all-new Nissan Z, the spitting image of the Nissan Z Proto that came before it. Nissan has been rather quiet about when the new Nissan Z will go into production and, ultimately, on sale, but a new post from the New Nissan Z forum sheds some light on what we can expect. According to the report, a timeline coming from an unnamed Nissan dealership outlines the next few months for the Z. If it is accurate, and it certainly seems like it could be, Nissan will put the Z into production this month (March 2022) with sales set to commence in June 2022.

There are no specific dates, but the timeline shows a pre-launch period, which is where we’re at now and lines up with Nissan's Super Bowl commercial that showcased the Z in an action-style clip. Once it goes into production sometime this month, media will be invited to drive the new Z sometime in April, which would conveniently fall in line with the 2022 New York Auto Show that’s set to run from April 15 – 24. There’s also a Nissan North America field meeting listed for sometime in May, with sales in June, and a new marketing campaign set to launch in August.

So far, Nissan has failed to respond to our requests for more information, which seems to be the case for other outlets as well. We do know for sure that the new Nissan Z will go on sale this year regardless of whether or not this timeline is legitimate. But, you’ve got the Ukraine-Russia war threatening global stability and the semiconductor shortages, the latter of which has already caused serious problems for the automotive industry. This means that production could very easily be pushed further into the future, thanks largely to the volatility of the auto market. At least we can say the new Nissan Z will be a blast to drive when it does arrive.
