The folks at Carwow brought three tuned vehicles to the drag strip that make 3,400 horses combined - the Audi TT RS, the Audi R8, and the Porsche 911 Turbo S.The Audi TT RS is powered by a 2.5-liter, turbocharged five-cylinder engine. The built engine now churns out 1,100 horses and 738 pound-feet of torque. The Audi R8 is powered by a 5.2-liter, V-10 engine and two turbos have been plonked in. It now runs on Ethanol and puts out 1,200 horses and 775 pound-feet of torque. The Porsche 992 911 Turbo S comes with a 3.8-liter, twin-turbo six-cylinder engine, but is built to 4.2 liters. It now makes 1,100 horses and 885 pound-feet of torque. The cars started off with rolling races first. The first race was from 50 mph in comfort mode. The Porsche flew past the others at kickdown, followed by the R8, and then the TT RS.The result was no different in the second race. The TT RS struggled to keep up with the Audi R8 an the Porsche 911 Turbo S.In the brake test, the Porsche stopped in the quickest distance, followed by the R8, and finally the TT RS that went the longest distance before it came to a halt. The drag races were a mess. Initially the R8 couldn't get a launch twice. Even after it did the TT RS and the Porsche shared the spoils. The Porsche then backed off to cool down while the Audis faced off for a one-on-one. This time, the R8 beat the TT RS comfortably. The Audi TT RS, surprisingly, came last, with a best time of 9.9 seconds. The Porsche did the quarter-mile time in 9.7 seconds....Since there was no clear way to determine the winner, the team took the best times recorded by each car.... whereas the Audi took the crown with a quarter-mile time of 9.4 seconds.Swipe up to watch the video, and read about the cars and the race in detail.
